Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given then to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is nothing.

A:

I have been living in Israel for 2 years.  I moved here by myself, without my family.  I love that people here that I don't even know feel like family.  I love that people seem hard on the outside, and on the inside they are some of the most caring and loving people you ever met.  I love it when I see people who want to help others, even when they know they might never see that person again.

I also love to hike and explore Israel.  It's so beautiful and has just about everything in such a small space... desert, forest, waterfalls, beaches, amazing scuba diving, adventure sports, hiking, jeeping, and incredible views.

Hey!seftysteph!   I don't know how, but a comment box appeared!  So now I can talk to you.

Thank you for answering my question.  It surprises me to hear that Israel has water falls and incredible views. I have/had the impression that it was mostly desert.  How silly of me, I know, but that is my reason for asking in the first place.

I think we all tend to generalize about other countries and Yedda and other sites like this is a good place to start to educate each other, not only on the great features about other people but also other lands.

How safe do you feel in Israel?  Is there a "big city" feel where you live or a small town atmosphere?  My curiousity is unending. Lol    NJOY

You're very welcome.  Thank you for asking such an interesting question and for having such an urge to learn and understand.  Yea, it's funny that most people who haven't visited Israel picture desert with camels.  Actually, Israel has sort of Miami beach weather and atmosphere in Tel Aviv, it sort of looks like San Fransisco in Haifa, in the Galilee and Golan, you could compare it to the vineyard mountainous lands of France, and you have waterfalls and springs that could maybe remind you of American national parks.  Of course every place in Israel really looks unique, it doesn't really look like these other places, but it's the easiest way to try to describe.  Then you have the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, and the Red Sea where you can see Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia all from the same place.

I feel 100% safe in Israel, safer than I did in America when I lived there.  Israel is careful and no one has a false sense of security here.  We know that we have enemies, and therefore there is security where required and the most moral army in the world, that does what is needed in order to keep Israeli citizens safe.  I actually live outside of the big city of Jerusalem now, where you can see the mountains and the Dead Sea in the distance.  Israel has way too many beautiful places that are so different from one another.  If you ever need a vacation destination, I'd consider coming to see for yourself :)  Where do you live?
