A:

I live in the United States and have lived here my whole life. I love to travel around the world, but when I come home to California something just feels right. I believe that home is where my family is. I am very close to them and it would be difficult to live far away. I have a love-hate relationship with this country, and don't always agree with what goes on here, but it is still my home. I appreciate that living in such a big country, when I do need to get away I can do so without traveling too far. Even just in California there is so much to see or do without driving very far or spending much money!! I also appreciate that my Grandparents immigrated here with nothing but the clothes on their back, and were able to build such wonderful lives for themselves and their families. For some, (while it is not easy) it really is the land of opportunity!!!

Thank you for answering Sarahs.  I live in the United States also and like you I love my country and sometimes am ashamed of the way things develop, but I always come back to the "proud to be an American"  In my few travels abroad, I do realize more than ever that we have the best country in the world.  I hope to hear from many others telling me what they love about their country. My son and his family just came home to the midwest from a trip to California to see the Redwoods.  They came back speechless at the size of the trees and all of northern California, how unspoiled it is, and unpopulated. I spent some time in southern California many years ago and loved it very much.  A truly beautiful state for sure.
