Do you think that the fashion industry should stop ...

Yes... I think that first of all, the models look like they're about to keel over and die from starvation, and they would look better if they were normal looking people.  Secondly, I think that it's a very bad message to be sending to our young people, that if you want to be the prettiest you can be, look anorexic and gross.  I think that the fashion industry should really take some responsibility for the statements they are making.

They give what the people want. I hardly think they can be held responsible for anorexia everywhere...

of cos, i think they should promote all sizes because the whole world isnt represented by "stick thin models".  but its also up to us to refuse to follow such trends and love our bodies so that others can see that stick thin isnt cool. i mean look the curvacious women/celebs who refuse to fall into that and more women are following. im a beautiful, tall curvy woman and everyday i dress well so that other women can see that there are clothes for all sizes and being stick thin isnt the only way to go.

and yea just to add on to what somebody already said, models arent responsible really for promoting thin, its what the designers want so its up to them to refuse if they feel seriously about this issue. a great example is tyra banks who used to be almost stick thin, after she retired from modeling she has now become a curvacious woman who is showing women that she was thin to do a job and that being thin wasnt something she wanted to be.  she's also a spokesperson for many young women out there who have fallen prey to this "stick thin" trend.

I just so a show about anorexia and it's simply horrible. A plague. It must be stopped and the model agencies must give a hand in getting the situation under control since they are part of the problem.

Someone needs to take responsibility for the situation before it's too late. 

I think that the fashion industry can do anything it wants and it is up to the viewer to use their own common sense to decide what is right for them.

I know there have been cases where young women have gone over the edge but I believe in the longrun common sense will prevail.

I believe just like alcohol, pot, ciggies, cigars, movies, music, fashion, the individual must take responsibility for their own decisions.

Accountability. 

They're not just promoting too thin models!Maybe in the 70's.But,Have you seen all these other plus size model's like Whitney from ANTM,Emme from People magazine,etc.But my point is they're not just supporting walking sticks but also the healthy models,too.Try this:google popular plus size models,please.But seriously that just makes me upset.But even if they only promoted them that's there choice. .'~(
