What are trends? how do they affect our lives?

trends are the things that are considered popular for short periods of time.  some trends last longer than others, but trends tend to be those things that you can see come "into style" and go "out of style."

I'm a trendsetter; I like finding new styles and promoting them to others. My friends call me a fashionista.  =)

They shouldn't effect our lives, but we don't live in a perfect world and we end up caring what other people think and do.

i think trends totally affect our lives. UGGs are a perfect example!! i love UGGS, dont get me wrong, but i think we may have gone overboard with them. I mean really, UGG flip flops? UGG cell phone cases? UGG clothing? are shoes not enough? i think ppl are too influenced by other ppl's decisions. i think this is a self-confident issue, some ppl think that if they wear what everyone else is, no one will look at them...or maybe they just want to be more "popular" because they have the "it" thing. One year olds have UGGs, 60 year olds have UGGs. cant middle school/high school girls do better than that???

Trends are fashion styles that are in for that season,month,year or what ever period of time. It definately affects our lives in many ways..can be good or bad. It has a way of showing what to wear or what not to wear. And if you go against this you're set apart from everyone else. True style really should be a reflection of your personality.
