What's a good website to introduce a child to the Internet? (Something fun, educational, and safe. Also, a site that doesn't link to sites for older children.)
Never Quit! Never Give Up!
Try cleverisland.com. It is highly rated and free for a time. Then only about $9-$10/month. You can log several kids on with different accounts and my kids loved it!
www.FunBrain.com is a website that my god-daughter uses.
HI! I have a 7 year old daughter and her FAVORITE website is stardoll.com. It's great. The website goes to great measures to make sure the kids are safe. The kids can dress up their favorite celebs (my daughter loves the Jonas brothers, Hannah Montana and the high school musical cast) play games and design their own character. The website is free, but you can also purchase "starpoints" which allow your son/daughter to buy their character items.
Try it! Its safe, free and im sure your child will love it!!
Try clubpenguin.com. It is a fun site loaded with activities for both the younger and older child. It has safe chat modes for younger kids and is well monitored. Your child can take on the identity of a penguin in a penguin world.

It is free! I use it in my classroom and I am a Kindergarten teacher. It is a good site for grades K-5.
