My daughter was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome at the age of 18. She didn't have a menstrual cycle for months. I took her to a gynecologist and had an ultra sound done..Her ovaries looked like chocolate chip cookies. The doctor had put her on birth control pills and said that we would just have to keep an eye on her. Her doctor said it would be hard for her to have children. They tried her on some medication, but she was unable to take it due to making her sick all the time. I had read a lot of articles about and found out she could get cancer, become a diabetic, weight gain and other issues. It would be a good idea to have it checked out..
