I have had family health plus with Healthfirst as my carrier from August 1 through March 31, 2008. I was sent a renewal notice pretty early and sent in all required documents. I assumed everything was in order until I went to the phamacy today and my coverage was denied. I then called the phone number on my insurance card and was told that my insurance expired on March 31 without any further information. Shouldn't they have sent me a notification of some kind?

Dear Wendybabe, yes the insurance carrier should have sent you cancellation notices. It was not fair for you to have to find out through the pharmacy. You should contact them for an explanation.
