It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.Wink

The best way to teach teens or any age is by example, don't tell, show. And then pray for them we are living in a age where it is hard being a teen. There is so much for them to get into now.I am afraid  that we have spoiled our kids I hope they can handle the hard times we are about to face.Good luck to you God bless

Hi Jennifer.  You say he's 15, so he will be getting his license soon right?  I don't know if you want him to save his money for something in particular, but if not, and it's just the principal of the thing, you could start looking at Cars with him, encouraging him to pick out a make and model he likes, figure the cost and the amount of time it would take to save the amount he would need.  It could be the motivation he needs!  Boys/Men love there Cars!  Sometimes we need our (motivating factor) ya know?  If he doesn't make much to save, maybe you could offer to 'match' the amount he saves-up himself.. making his money double!

I think it's great what your trying to do.. teaching him responsibility and the value of a dollar.  You can show him how to have so much pride in himself and his own personal accomplishments just by teaching him to spend his money wisely.  And like Dryridged416 said; "The best way to teach teens is by example" as well.

Smile

That was so sweet. Thank you. I am going with that. He gets an allowance but not much. Ten dollars a week, and I opened him a savings at a local credit union. The credit union actually gave him a debit card, and he has done very well...(about five months). I am going with the car shopping ordeal. That will give a big incentive. I told him I would meet him half way with the cost of a car. Thank you so much
