Hi Jennifer. You say he's 15, so he will be getting his license soon right? I don't know if you want him to save his money for something in particular, but if not, and it's just the principal of the thing, you could start looking at Cars with him, encouraging him to pick out a make and model he likes, figure the cost and the amount of time it would take to save the amount he would need. It could be the motivation he needs! Boys/Men love there Cars! Sometimes we need our (motivating factor) ya know? If he doesn't make much to save, maybe you could offer to 'match' the amount he saves-up himself.. making his money double!
I think it's great what your trying to do.. teaching him responsibility and the value of a dollar. You can show him how to have so much pride in himself and his own personal accomplishments just by teaching him to spend his money wisely. And like Dryridged416 said; "The best way to teach teens is by example" as well.
