While you are surely undergoing medical treatment, your family desperately needs psychological help. At least, try to get someone theynrespect to speak to them if they refuse to go for family therapy.

I think it is sad that your family feels that way. I am sending you a site that has info that states it have to do with a gene and if that is the case it is heredity.  And if that is the case your family played a role in your genetic make up.  There are surgeries that can help you but the recovery takes a very long time.  Check out your options though.  And best of luck to you.  You have nothing to be ashamed of.  Your family is stupid not to support you but you can't change them so change yourself and get in a support group and hopefully it will open you up to a new set of friends who can relate.  Sometimes parents and family are not always the best place to look for support.  Sad but true http://www.iscoliosis.com/

Hello I really enjoyed reading your blog. I have scoliosis and I enjoy reading about the back and scoliosis on blogs and other websites.. I am very pleased with the SpineCor brace that I started wearing since Nov 2004. I have hardly any back pain and there has been some improvement in my curve. It took a while but I got used to it and I appreciate the support it gives my back. A couple of people have told me that I look straighter now. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to use the SpineCor brace. If you want more information on it go to http://www.losangelesscoliosis.com . Anyways I look forward to all the updates. Thanks again. Jessica
