How do I get fair compensation without a lawyer. After being rear ended in a relatively minor accident ($1300 damage), we visited the emergency room, my daughter was fine, my wife complained of back pain and at a follow up with her GP was prescribed mucle relaxers twice for a total of 4 weeks, The van was fixed, but my wife was in bed for 2 1/2 weeks with pain. She had one physical therapy session and basicallt she was alright after that. So We gather all our stuff and send it off the Liberty Mutual, asking for about $900 IN MED BILL COMP and perhaps some sort of compensation for the time we spent at docs, my off-time for work to take care of her, etc. THe Mutual Liberty idiot states 'soft tissue' only, North Carolina poor payout and offers $100 above med bills. A MEASLY $100. I can't believe how cheap this #$%&%^* is. I don't think the case is good enough for lawyers but seriously $100 is ridiculous. When I first called with the claims, they offered $475 a piece for my wife and daughter. Now the question - Is the lawyer worthy? Can IU represent myself in court for let's say $3000. How do I prove the pain and suffering and my time off work?,,,,any help is appreciated - signed - At the mercy of the Adjuster!
