"Deactivating your account isn't the same as deleting it since you can re-activate your Facebook account simply by logging in again . You log in one time and your back on with a fully activated functioning account . This means that your profile and other personal details are still lurking on Facebook's servers . You will need to contact Facebook directly to actually delete your account . There is a deletion link on your account . You must NOT try to log in once the request is made , as it will cancel the deletion request or the deactivating request . If the account becomes active again it is due to the account holder logging in and continuing to use the site . Moral of the story if you want off Facebook stay off it is that simple . "
