An English bombing of Copenhagen in 1807 has been coined the worlds first terror bombing, made possible by a then very resent British invention. At that time Denmark was expected to be to strong in its defenses of militarily and political facilities. Instead churches and civilians were bombed. That made for an easy victory for the British. Not too many years after that Sweden took Norway and Skåne (i.e. the southern parts of present day Sweden) from the Danes. For years following that, rebels that in Skåne were crushed with none-missile terror methods presumably inspired by the effectiveness of the earlier British terror against the Danish.
Nowadays both British and Swedish media tend spread effective propaganda against use of terror. As does, of course Danish. As does also very many other countries’ nowadays very free media. Is it possible that terror having been made more effective does not prevent the thoughts of avoiding it? Does it tend to obstruct them, though? Is it possibly the same with very many other weapons, that the military uses somehow make people feel actually saturated with having tested that evil?
