I have heard a story and I am not sure if it is true or not .

It involves some city council a whale's rotring carcass and an explosion of this whale.

Actually there are a few cases - the first whale was blown up in 1970 by using dynamite - here is the video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5026749082260400566

Another whale was blown up at sea to make the carcass sink. This decision was made as the carcass would have been a great health risk. Samples of the animal have been taken to hopefully establish the cause of death as there were no visible injuries.

The other well-reported case of an exploding whale was in Taiwan in 2004 when a buildup of gas inside a decomposing sperm whale caused it to explode while it was being transported for an examination.

I was late for work this morning, because I got stuck in Zeno's paradox

I also heard this story a couple of years ago. I think it was in California, and it is not an urban legend. The story is that a whale carcass washed up on the shore, and the city council wanted to get rid of it so they decided to blow it up.  I don't recall all the details. but it was a resounding disaster.
