Choose to make it a great day, my new Friend!

A:

Since people are sharing their social underwear, I try to share mine in as real a way as possible.  As one gets older, I think the self becomes more "secure". I grew up in Texas and Mississippi with a short stint in Rochester, NY (Brighton) at an impressionable age (large icecicles [sp?] make effective weapons to defend ones self due to the misconception of wearing blue jeans and white T-shirts to school---typ TX school clothes at the time...but definitely not in Brighton, a largly white collar "Jewish community"...motza balls for lunch in the school cafeteria...loved them). I'm part Scot, largly Irish, part Swiss, with a 1/8 cristening of good strong Comanche/Kiowa blood.  Only slightly more than 100 years ago it was legal to shoot Comanche & Kiowa people on sight in TX without any repercussions. It was expected of a "good" white man "Texican".  I'm a dusty wind blown sun tanned prairie-billy and proud of it. :) One great-great-grandfather is listed on a plaque in the Alamo. Another great-grandfather was a white man and Texas Ranger...partnered with his second wife, a full blood Comanche. He was "unique"...a Presbyterian missionary to the plains Indians east of the Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle and a Texas Ranger, Battalion Surgeon...unless you are from TX you may not be able to fully appreciate that dicotomy. When I was about 8, one summer my cousin and I went to the movie down town...and they would not let me in...I was tanned dark and had dark brown hair and eyes..."No 'Mexicans' allowed!" and no exceptions were made.  When asked what I am, I often say "'Me' my ancestors' off-spring is who I am! Like many Americans, I am a mixing pot of good cultural stew! What's wrong with that?" Nothin', Yall!!!   When asked my faith, I say, "I'm 'Jewish'...my Lord is Hebrew, and so am I. I just recognized and accept Him as the Messiah is all.".  So, I guess I am a Messianic Jew who likes to Goard Dance, has jerky for lunch most days, eats Haggis and washes it down with dark 'bitters' or occasionally some sippin Glenlivet and love potatoes in almost any dish! :)" Some say "You're strange." and I say "Thanks! :)"  Peace T'yall!  That's  Texanese for "To All of You" or "to You all" if you are from the north and in need of translation. ;) Learn, and choose, to truly Love yourself as God does.  Psm 139 says it all about "self"...on  many topics.
