He lies because he's a jerk. But, by not going to church on Sunday, you are letting him control your actions. I would go to Church, hold my head up high, smile at him sweetly (it'll really confuse him and get the girlfriend wondering) and everytime you catch him or her watching you, smile again); then, pray that on the way out, his pants fall down to his ankles;
