There are several explanations to his behavior:
1. He simply likes you and wants you to know that.
2. He wants you (and / or others) to know that you
are still "friends" (and not enemies).
3. Those are early signs that he wants you back.
4. He is "testing" his feelings towards you.
5. He is "teating" your reactions.
and that are only few to mention.......
