I have been harassed and was in a hostile work environment some 4 years ago. I now left the firm. Do I have cause to file for for some kind of action against the company?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
Yes you have a cause.  But, I have to warn you: It won't be easy.... on the contrary, it is going to be a long painfull process.... you'll have to prove that it happend and that it caused you some kind of damage (mental or physical).... Sure your empolyer will deny and attack you at court.... and it won't be plesant..... and it will cost you good money....
Best regards,

Thank you for your help.

It sounds that it may not be worth the time and effort.

At the time it happened I filed a complaint with the labor dept of the company, and the boss was eventually let go. I don’t have that kind of cash to go after them. Would the fact that I already have a paper trail make this go faster, better,…. Please advise.

Hi,
Yes sure it can help.  It's rock hard evidence to suport your claim (you know, when people terminate their work they might be upset and react in that way).
I didn't mean to discourage you (on the contrary, fight for your rights !) I just wanted to open your eyes to see the tough road that is in your way.   Not necessarily it should cost you money.  You can reach an agreement with your attorney that he receives a certain percentage of the money (compensation) if and when you get it (not all attornies will like this idea, but some will !).  Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck.

NOTICE: By the time you have noticed this notice, you will have noticed that this notice is not worth noticing.

You absolutely have a case, but be prepared for a long fight, as discussed above.  If you can find an attorney willing to take on such a fight on a contingency basis, go for it.  Especially since you have documentation.  They're going to argue (among other things), "Well, if it was so bad, why didn't you quit  before now?".  Finding an attorney under such conditions will also be a task.

Good luck.
