The definition used by Congress in the 1960's when drafting legislation for environmental education was the interactions between the natural and man made environment, the interactions between the natural and natural environment and the interactions between the man made and man made environments.

There is an environment not thought of as an environment by most people...their body.  What you eat, what you do and all that you inhale, apply and ingest influences this most fragile of environments.  So a health issue is also an environmental issue of sorts...
