what is the prepositional phrase for this sentence- the captain of the team called a meeting.
"of" is the preposition (a word which creates a relationship with other words) "the team" is the object of preposition (the noun that follows the preposition). You may find this site helpful:

"of the team" is the prepositional phrase. Words like of, in, on, under.... these are all prepositions. Some other examples of prepositional phrases are:
in the house
under the table
on the phone
I hope this helps. Good luck.
Zuzak's is dead on. A complication arising from prepositional phrases is that they perform grammatical functions. For instance, "of the team" is functioning as an adjective in your example.
