sorry, yes 26 year old male. have seen a couple of gp's and a couple of specialist urologists (who seemed to want to just discharge me to improve their figures rather than solve the problem.
no other medical conditions i am aware of, either with me or in the family.
have had flexible cystoscopy, flow tests, urine samples, sti tests (although this came on before i was sexually active) etc everything came back clear. have reached a stage now where i can notice it coming and try to head it off, this manages to reduce the number of problems, but still have a few really nasty bouts a year at best.
forgot to mention earlier, drinking too much fluid (water, do not drink alcohol much although the occassional beer seems to help settle things a bit) can also bring this on.
the last thing i had was the flow test with a specialist and he literally said "your flow test was fine so you're discharged" at the time you don't have you wits about to say "hang on, the problem's not cured, how can you discharge me?". when i asked a few people about this, apparantaly the specialist in my area is known for just trying to get his figures looking good instead of caring about the problem.
have not had a prostate exam as was told when asking about this, at my age it should not be an issue?
to try to sum up how it feels when it happens, the urethra feels as though it has been stripped out and is red raw and the fluid travelling down is burning the lining, have a real desire to urinate even though i have no fluid in me. the way i try to explain it is: if there were to reserves filling the bladder, one which controls how much you feel you need to go (the urge) and the other that controls the actual level of fluid (urine), the urge keeps on topping up but the urine doesn't, i have to physically stand there desperate until the extra fluids i put in my body flush through the system and fill my bladder (at this point irronically, when i have the fluid in me to go, the sensations starts to fade away)
any suggestions are welcome??
