How to end holiday gift giving with family members

Have you ever thought of maybe making something? I ran into this prob myself as my fam started getting bigger and it became harder to buy for everyone... here are a couple tips of things that have worked for me....

1) Homemade KAHLUA LIQUOR  
 
1 qt. water
3 c. sugar
10 level tsp. freeze dried Folger's instant coffee
 
Simmer for 1 hour. Cool. Stir in 3 cups Vodka and 2 teaspoons vanilla. The longer you keep it bottled, the better.
If you make this now it will taste better with age :))
2) HOMEMADE FUDGE  
 
4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 c. cream
1/2 c. chocolate or cocoa
 
Boil until it forms a soft ball when dropped in cold water. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla and 1 tablespoon butter and beat until creamy and pour on buttered pan. Add nut meats if desired.
Usually at most dollar stores they have very great accessories for gift baskets... like baskets... bottles... the plastic gift basket covers... and making your own in quantity truly is an inexpensive way to give a gift that looks like a million bucks for practically nothing... I try to prepare a basket or gift for ppl according to them...
Another great idea is to buy mason jars... take out your favorite cookie recipe... add all the dry ingrediants to the jar... then attach the recipe on a card so all thay have to do to make their cookies is add the liquid part of the recipe and after they have a recipe they can keep forever... I will buy a case of mason jars and make up many to put in all my baskets... it is super cute and fun... big hits with Mom's and kiddies :))
And my last suggestion for the ppl lower on the gift giving poll is to just buy a lottery ticket... enclose in a card with a big wish for luck :)) Hope this helps the cheaper possabilities are endless if you put your mind to it :)) Good luck...

How about giving an evening of baby sitting to those with children?

If you're a gardener and they like flowers, then how about cut flowers once a month for 3 months?

Offer hubby to cut their grass.

Deliver them a Valentine's Day romantic meal.

If these things won't work and hubby is adamant, then tell him to shop and wrap.

Try to spend your holiday at a spa. You can bring along with you all the family members. I guess this is the most exciting thing to do during the holidays. There's this spa that I suggest. You can get a spa gift voucher from them.They have variety of services and relaxing activities for the entire family. At the end of the day you'll see that its worth every penny you spend.
