------- ADD: Ok, I found - Gov employment screening background checks . Their database seems quite substantial and the information up to date. I was able to perform nationwide searches, quickly and as many times as required. Hope that helps somebody.

I have done some of these background checks. Most people pass employment screening background checks , but some do not. It is an exhausting process. Expect to have your family, neighbors, co-workers, and schoolmates interviewed in the process and even have have background checks run on them. And make sure your wife, kids, or parents do not have financial problems. That would be the only thing I would worry about f.or employment screening background checks.

misdemeanors that old likely will not show up, generaly for a fee you can go to the police dept and they will print out a report for you

I recently was offered a gov't job. What kind of things would keep me from passing the pre-employment check? I have no felonies, no drug or credit problems...is their anything else?

I am thinking of the nuclear field and medicine. What type of a background check should I expect going into these career fields? Other careers have background checks relating to your past history?
Depends on the type of background the company does. Not all companies do nationwide U.S. background checks because it cost to much money. Some will only do state wide (FL) or some will only do the county.
