I'm looking after someone else's kitten and he won't drink water

I'm looking after someone else's kitten and he will ONLY drink kitten milk. I've tried to get him to drink water my licking it off the tip of my finger but he just won't touch it. Is it best to be a bit mean and only leave water for him to drink and try to get him off drinking milk all the time ?

Um..... Maybe you could start adding water to his milk. Slowly decreasing the milk, while increasing the water. Hopefully this will help you out. Just a suggestion.

I've owned many kittens, so maybe I'll be able to help you. Smile First of all, if it's still a kitten, it may not be ready just yet to move on to milk. But if it drank milk already for it's real owner, then maybe you should try what ColDeST wiNTer suggested by gradually adding water to the milk. Before you make any decisions about what to do though, it may be a good idea to talk to his owner and see what they say because they may be able to help you. I hope this helps! And good luck with the kitten!
