We have just got to the point in our history where we may be ready to elect, a woman, a black man or a Mormon. With people just starting to get used to that idea, I feel that it may be awhile before Americans are ready to elect a Muslim.

Thx, so much talking about "melting pot" but we still like to put labels... I believe that it is a great concept to have nationality put equal to citizenship.

I do not mind to add some historical ( ANSESTORS) background  like italian-american or russian-american but american is a key word.

Just my thought...

If the Americans have chosen an

Iranian  candidate then I believe America will choose a suitable candidate no matter his race religion or gender.
