Has anyone done any research on the word "christ ...

Has anyone done any research on the word "christ" with a small "c"?  In the book, The Isis Thesis, Judy Kay King alludes to the fact that Isis nurses her son Horos back to life with her holy "cream" or "mother's milk".  Ms King further alludes to the fact that we too, through molecular biology using the christ-milk are nourished in the after-life as our cells begin to fade and die, they are revived by christ.  Ms King has deciphered 800 various hieroglyphics from Egyptian Sarcophaguses to come to this point of view.  Therefore, I am trying to do more research into the root meaning of the word "christ" before the Biblical meaning came to be.

Reading any book, even the bible, isn't going to answer this strange archelogical question that you ask. Why not go to the very top. Ask God, Himself, to speak to you and reveal Himself to you. His answer will be far better than any book you find. However, this is the question you can find from the Bible. (In finding the true Christ). It's a road map to finding the true Jesus Christ. I'm afraid though, given by your discussion; that you may need assistance. Try finding a simple, God fearing, loving, biblical church to see if they are holding any bible study classes. Ask God each time, if this is the right place for you. It may take several trys before you find the right church. One where you feel and see the power of God in these church people's lives. There is where you'll find answers. There is where you'll find truth. Not this archelogical jargon that you must be reading.

By the way if you must be stubborn, and are a true bookworm...then I suppose you can start reading some better historical, scientific  findings done on ancient texts. Try reading "Evidence that Demands a Verdict". It's by a former atheist lawyer who discovered how science and history hide facts from the world. Take a look at the chapter that deals with original ancient manuscripts. You'll be feaked out to find; how very few original ancient manuscripts (and others) have been found for stuff like Homers "the Illiad and the Oddessy". Yet we teach them as history in schools accross the nation. You'll even discover just how horribly inaccuriate they are between one original copy and the next original manuscript. THEN you'll discover how many thousands upon thousands of original Biblical ancient manuscripts there are..and of course discover that they are less than .05% inaccurriate from one to the other. The point is, the world makes up alot of it's own history based on weak facts. God made His original Bible to be accurate and to be known since ancient civilization began. Really it's the Bible's original manuscripts that should be used as a comparassion for determining whether something is truly historical or not. It can also be used for finding answers for this life on earth. I hope this helps, sir.................Stanimal

Thank you Stanimal.  You were very generous to spend as much time as you did on trying to help me in my quest, but I still hope someone out there in "yeddaland" has done an in depth read on the subject of what the word meant before it was applied to our Lord and Savior.  There were thousands of years of human history recorded prior to the recording of our Bible and it is in those stories one must delve in order to find the meaning of the word christ with a small "c". If, as Ms King claims, we can find a connection to the word "milk" "cream" "nourishment" then we do indeed need Christ with a capital "C" before our dying cells can rejoice with others in the Promised Land.  And if as Ms King alludes, the Egyptians were telling us as much through their hieroglyphics carved onto their sarcophaguses, as far back as 3,000 years before Jesus was born, then we'd be foolish not to interpret them and marvel in awe at the power of our Lord and Savior, The CHRIST even more so today than ever before. Bible study and finding a Church is excellent advice for anyone, and I commend you for it, but what I am looking for today is the root word for christ.  Does anyone know if it is "cream" "milk" "lactose" as in "lactose phage" which is necessary in molecular biology for the dying cell to be reborn?

May you have a long trail with a light load.

All I can find is it's root in Greek from the word "Christos" meaning anointed or to anoint.  Also, Unger's Bible dictionary records it's first use in II Esdras 7:29. But that was with a capitol C.

I have forgotten were I read or heard it, but very recently a prayer from Deuteronomy was discovered engraved onto a thin piece of silver rolled up like a little scroll next to a mummy  inside an excuvated tome estimated to be at least 4000 years old. Point being, Don't underestimat how old the Bibles writtings really are.  In my opinion, contempory science will refuse to validate Biblical truths and in fact have knowing distorted them to validate themselves.

Good luck on your search.

tHANK you for trying Woodman.  Don't remember if I told you or not, but I contacted the son of the author you recommended(oops, that wasn't you, that was Stanimal) to me the other day, Sean McDowell, and he was very courteous to me and may do some research just for fun the way I am.  I know about the "annointing" meaning in Greek etc, but to go back further is quite a challenge.  I am fascinated by Judy Kay King's observation regarding gene transfer and lactose being necessary for the phage to transfer successfully Laughing Her thesis,if ever accepted, will be revolutionary. Or at the least, vedddy veddy interesting!!Surprised

Hey Nancy, I see you're not having much luck with this question. I found a site that's a little much for me, but you might find something to follow.

Oh Wow Woodman!  Thank you so much!  Haven't taken the time to read it yet, but have bookmarked it and may find a gem or two in it.  Thanks for thinking of me.  Nancy
