Do Yoga and Pilates actually help people to lose weight, or do you need to still run and get a cardio workout in order to be healthy and in shape?
Always look your best because you never know who you're going to meet.
I've actually heard you can lose weight this way but I have my doubts. I personally think I'd need to work up a pretty good sweat to actually lose weight, and running/jogging are the only ways I can burn a good amount of calories.
Just by stretching your muscles you are burning calories. Not much as an aerobic exercise. Some times while practicing Yoga you are not raising your heart beat enough. It depends on the amount you are practicing it and which Yoga you have chosen to practice. I think the best plan to loose weight with yoga is to combine it with a healthy diet and some walking or running to give you the workout you need. I would choose the Vinyasa style yoga . Power yoga also works much on cardiovascular activity.
Good Luck.

Yes, but you need to do faithfully as with anything else..regular exersize and diet will make a difference
There are better more effective weays to lose weight but there are benfits to both.
You can actually lose weight just by eating properly without any major exercise, but exercise definitely increases the rate at which you lose weight.
A more active form of yoga would probably be your best bet in terms of yoga for weight loss, however overall I'd say Pilates is going to be a better source of calorie consumption overall as it is more active.
i ve experienced the energy tat is induced in me agtr yoga sessions.. its reelee helpful trust me..in evry way...
