Hi, actually Math has a great deal to do whatever major you have decided to pursue.
Solving Mathematical problems is a process, a trial of what works and what doesn't. Even when you automatically respond to 2+2=4 you have utilized a process.
As you grow and learn, the processes of solving Math problems becomes more complicated. [x=2 and y=4 therefore x + Y = 6] Your mind begins to understand the relationship of numbers and ideas - if something is missing in your equation you discover the ability of still solving the problem. [If you must divide 6 piles of wood into 3 individual equal piles how many piles would be in each stack. x+y=z
You are given two constants--if x=6 and z=3 equal? Ergo: 6+y = 6 divided by 3=2 therefore y= 2.]
So you say "How did you do that?" The answer is in the process of solving the problem, learning how to set up the possibilities, work through the solutions and determine the most acqurate solutions. Mathmatics.
Translate this process into the other fields of education. You wil find whether they be Science, language, the Arts, or the Social Sciences that learning the process of what is true and what isn't, the processes of what works or what doesn't in a marketing situation is all in your ability to solve a problem and to create a solution. [Mathmathics]
if you learn to utilize your problem solving abilities in Mathmatics you will be able to apply them to other majors. Hope this helps.
Remember it is all in the process.
