Does it take longer than four years for the majority of college students to earn a degree? Why?

It does not take longer for the majority of college students to earn a degree. For those students who do take longer than the prescribed four years, it's usually because they spend more time partying than studying and going to class.

Many students do graduate in fours years. There any many reasons to graduate in over 4 years: more than one major, adding a minor, poor schedule planning or classes not available every semester/quarter; and partying.
