Asked about “Kirstie Alley weight battle

It is not what you eat, it is what's eating you

Weight loss is a very big financial industry. Those who run weight loss centers know that as soon as the client goes off their program, they double their weight. Why doesn't the health industry support something like oa and the 12 steps program. It is proven to work. Why is everything about greed and the easy way out?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi Akaubi, -------- You are right, those who run weight loss centers are interested mostly in their client's money (and fast)...... and they rarely mind the later consequences. Personally I believe that a diet should be slow and mainly in the "way of thinking" and changing habbits (getting used to proper healthy balanced diet + sport [ = activity]) on regular basis [long lastig]. --------- Best regards,

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

Here is the web site from the US Department of Agriculture containing nutritional recommendations into the kinds and amounts of food to eat each day. Hope this is of some help to you.

All diet products have one thing in common in that they tell you to eat sensibly and to exercise. If you do that then you will lose weight consistently without all of the wasted money on the diet pills. Try walking five minutes an hour if you can, or just do what you can, and increase at your own pace. Eat sensibly, drink plenty of water, and increase your exercise regimen when you become comfortable with what you are doing.

Weight loss is successful with common sense and discipline. It isn't a race or a competition. For an excellent book on the subject read "Younger Next Year" by Chris Crowley and Henry S. Lodge, M.D. While written for men, it's great for women too, and it is a very entertaining and practical read. It will encourage you, and help you develop a plan that doesn't waste your money and time.

Have fun!

You can't blame those who are enrolled to different weight loss programs. Maybe those programs are the one who are able to motivate and inspire them to loss weight.

I do agree with you that today weight loss industry has becoem a big profitable industry. The reason is people losing faith in their own ability and taking the shortest and easiest way to achieve something. Eating sensible and doing regular exercises is still the best and most effective way to lose weight.
