Normally it's recommended to boil the rice for only a 1-2 minutes.  I boil the rice for 4-5 minutes then stir frequently once you turn the burner down to low for the rest of the cooking process.  This helps eliminate the sticky texture and helps make it more dry.  Also, be sure to cool the rice fully.
