Can I dye and perm a lace front wig?

I have a lace front wig which I would like to Dye a permament black. It is currently a number 4 and 8. Would the lace dye too, causing me not to be able to use the wig? Is there some sort of protection I need to apply to the lace to prevent this. Do you know of a professional service which I might be able to use to get this done. Ideally, I would like a perm and colour. I paid a lot for this as its custom made, but the colour was not as expected.
