How would you suggest protecting your home at ...

How would you suggest protecting your home at night, with the windows open on a nice evening? This always concerns me, especially when it comes to my children.

You could drill in a 1 1/2" self-tapping screw into the inside channel limiting how much the window can open so that it would not be big enough for a person to come through.

I like those add on window locks that allow you to lock your window when it is open a couple of inches for fresh air.  Window bars are another option, but they are expensive and you have to make sure you get a style that will let the children escape in case of fire.

Good thing there are security gadgets nowadays that allows you to place anywhere in your house. These are available to any security equipment rental stores.
