If your small dog was bred with a larger dog, then the puppies will most likely be too large for her to be able to whelp (deliver) on her own and she will probably need a C-Section. If the puppies are too large, there is a much higher chance that she will have complications and if you don't get her to the vet fast enough, then her and her puppies can die! There is no telling how big the puppies will be or if it will affect their growth! You need to take your female to the vet, have and x-ray or ultrasound done, find out how many puppies she is carrying, how big the puppies are and if the vet thinks she can deliver the puppies on her own or if she will need a C-Section. Taking her to the vet is very important. The vet will be able to tell you more after he/she examines her and does an x-ray! When you take her in, please speak to your vet about having her Spayed.
