A:Great question. I searched a bit and found that more than 250 rescue dogs helped in the 9/11 disaster, and 5 of them died (three from heat stroke and two fell from the rubble). I guess that there weren't many pets in the building, being an office building, but I don't know about it. I hope you'll get more answers for your question, I'll try to keep an eye on it.
