Never give up on someone you can't go a day without thinking about.

Tea cup just means the dog is a small breed and won't grow very large.

last answer right, small, very small, & HEALTH AT RISK!!!  Becuz of being small, prone to more illness, SHOULD NOT BE BRED, risk of dibetes/hypoglaucemia, just risking tiny lives for big bucks is basically what the breeders are doing, & makin big bucks breeding AT RISK, un healthy babies, that u surely will get attached to, forked out big bucks, and your chances of them NOT being healthy, and living LONG LIVES (as small dogs, meaning toys & minis can live 15, 18...) is VERY LOW & CHANCEY!!!! breeders are a dime a dozen... they'll tell u anything u wanna hear to get your $$$$!!!  just beware Darlin!!!!  Hope I helped ya!

100 thumbs up

I enjoy using Yedda to ask and answer medical questions. I previously worked as a nurse but am now based from home - having just completed a long spell of breast cancer treatment.

Life has also been busy lately after the arrival of our new puppy called poppy. She's a black labarador retriever and drives us all crazy at times but we just adore the buzz she brings to the house. Last week she caused me a shoulder injury by tugging when out walking - but I can forgive that for the fun she brings. Other sites I like to visit are:

European Vacations

Whiplash Injury

Skin Treatment

Europe Vacation Destinations

Apple Cider Vinegar

Voos Baratos

Maori Tattoos

Lord of the Rings Jewelry

Travel Notes

Yes - crazy isn't it. A teacup puppy is one of those miniature breeds that celebs seem to just love at the moment. I think there is even an official size limit or weight limit that the dog must be under before it qualifies for teacup status.

Oh - and latest craze among the celebs is to have a puppy horoscope created for your new best friend ...... !

11 thumbs up

I was a registered AKC Mini and Toy Poodle breeder for almost ten years. It was in Ct. and was called Sunrise Poodles. I owned 12 beautiful poodles with champion bloodlines.  They had their own room which was the puppy nursery.  No dog of mine then and now were ever caged. They lived and live in our home as part of the family. That's when I went to dog grooming school and got certified.  I did it for my own dogs but then my customers started asking me to groom theirs also.  So that turned into Bonnie's Bubble Corner.  My whole life has been dogs and kitties too but mostly dogs.  I had toy and tiny toy poodles.  One of my male studs was Tuffy.  He was perfect in everyway but in those years he was not accepted by AKC for show because he was so tiny.  He had lots of United States and Candian Champions starting with his father.  So I bought him from someone who didn't want him because they couldn't enter him in the shows.  He fathered 64 puppies and there was a waiting list for his pups.  Now to ans. your question in my opinion...there is such a breed as teacup.  That's what breeders call them that breed tiny dogs.  I have not know a teacup to weigh more than 2 1/2 lbs at adulthood which is one year.  In all those years Tuffy fathered one teacup much to my surprise.  At one year old she weighed 1lb. 6oz.  Tuffy weighed only four lbs. and he was round and beautiful. Teacups can have alot of health problems.  I think a breeder really has to know what they are doing to breed that small.  The female dog in any breed should always be the same size or larger than the male so she can pass her puppies without problems.  Tuffy died here in Fl. and he was 18yrs. 1 month and 29 days old.  He was always fed good food no by products of meat or chicken that is dead animals ground to a soup and sold to major dog food companies as filler in there dry food and also wet can food.  All my dogs eat good beef, chicken, turkey and more just as I do.  I'm sorry I'm way off the question.  Any way  teacups do exist but they are as much care as a baby.  They can be hurt easily, can get cold more quickly.  Teacup is not a dog for children under 12 yrs. old.  I really wish they wouldn't breed them.  If it happens natural great as long as the parents and back ground is healthy.  God Bless Bonnie
