Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

That's the dog's nature: to sleep next to the leader (/ the dominant).  Besides it can be a warm / soft / nice place and you probably pat him..... a good spot.   However it's easy to teach him where his real place is (if you want it).
Best regards,

Live each day as if it's your last.

I allow my two chihuahuas to also sleep in my bed with me. I swear, no matter the size of the bed, they will always sleep as close to me or on top of me as possible. I think it has something to do with body warmth. With my dogs, they love to cuddle and have human contact. They love to sleep between me and my boyfriend and they feel extremely warm when they curl up around us. So whether I fall asleep on the couch or on the bed, they will always crawl in to sleep with me.

Dogs are creatures who love warmth and being close to the one's around them. Your dog is looking for close companionship and love. If this bothers you, you can easily train him to sleep in a certain place which you designate for him. If you like your dog sleeping so close simply enjoy man's best friend.

He might be scared, or maybe loves you. Dogs love to sleep next to their masters, if not scared, to protect. He obviosly loves you!

Dogs are pack animals and YOU are part of the pack. They are also social and want to be next to the one they are fond of.

Life is a bed of roses. . . watch out for the pricks!

Could be insecurity. . . He seeks your body warmth and closeness for reassurance. Perhaps there are also separation anxiety issues. Alternately, it could also be a way of exerting dominance over you. If there is aggression when you try to remove the dog from his preferred position you need to seek help as to the best way to re-instate your posion as the alpha male/female

even though the sun is so powerful there is always half of the earth that is not lit up.

he/she sleeps so close b/c he wants to feel close to you and also might be cold so he/she wants to warm up.
