Why doesn't a bicycle fall down when it is moving?

Why doesn't a bicycle fall down when it is moving, but it does when it is still? Same thing with a spin, why doesn't it fall down when it is rotating, but it does when it is not?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

It's all a matter of forrces and ballancing forces (equilibrium).  A bicycle that stands still is not balanced and the sum fo forces in not zero so it has to fall.   If you manage to balance it (it's easy) it will remain standing !.  While ridding the ridder balances it....  as long as he balances it the bicycle remain straight.....  one mistake and it will fall.   Same when rotating.  The centrifugal force balances the weight vector.   When stopping the rotation the centrifugal force comes to zero and nothing balances the weight vector.....  the result: it has to fall.....  Hope I was clear.
Enjoy the weekend,

Hello  friend,  I  think, every  things either move  or  rotate  they obtained  some  speed. That  speed gives equal  state due  to  gravitation  force.Bicycle  has  different masses  due  to  it's parts & they  attracted  by gravitation  force. If it moves, it's  parts  are get  same  speed.so,it  does  not  fall  down. If  does  not  move, every  parts  of  the  bicycle  attracted  by  gravitation  force &  fall  down. You think,we are walk(mostly slow) but  does not fall, why? because we  have centre of gravity.I  kindly ask  you..what  is  centre  of  gravity? It

i myself had the same question  and here is what i think a nearest answer

- a body will try to attain a position where its centre of gravity is nearest to center of earth thats the reason why a cycle will fall when left without a support

- now for moving cycle there will be some angular momentum which creates centrifugal force acting away and balancing the ride(supported by friciton of the tyres).
