Can a doctor disclose my info to parents?

Ever since I was young, I've had terrible periods that have been extremely irregular etc. 6 months ago, I went to a GP about this, and she suggested i go on the pill. She asked if I had been sexually active, and I had been at the time(I had sex once or twice) so I told her. Since then, I regretted it and have not had sex again.

I now have to go for a check up with her again, and my mother wants to come with as she thinks I am only on the pill so i can have sex in the near future, which i don't.
But my question is, can my doctor tell my mother that I am sexually active(or have been) even if I say I havent in front of the doctor? I made a mistake in the past, and I dont want my parents to know about it. Should I contact my doctor before the appointment and speak to her and ask her not tell my mother?

I'm 17.

In my opinion, having sex at 17 isn't wrong, but it's personal choices. Legally, a doctor can give any information to your parents until you are 18, or if you are unconscious/unable to talk. You can still call your GP and ask them to keep it secret for the moment, it's a human way to ask them to help you and they can wheter or not accept it.

The law says the doctor isn't allowed to disclose this information to your parents as long as you're over the age of 14.  Same with abortions.

Call up your doctor's surgery and ask the receptionist for the patient/doctor confidentiality rules to confirm before you make an appointment.

It's none of your mother's business though and if you tell the doctor not to disclose this, he or she cannot and will ask your mother to leave the room. They only have to disclose it if you are a danger to yourself and you are clearly not.

Stand up to your mother, she is just being nosy. There was a case in the UK of a mother trying to get the law changed so she would know if her daughters were on the pill etc and this was overruled. At 17 you are old enough to be making your own decisions regarding the pill. I wish I had gone on the pill aged 12 because of the terrible periods i had, don't wait any longer if you're in pain.
