My doctor wants me to take over the counter niacin to help with my cholesterol but i have gout. I read that niacin can cause gout. Should i take the niacin (100mg)? Thanks
I think that if your questioning whether your doctor's recommendations are a good idea, that you should see another doctor. You are right that it's smart to read the warnings on medicines. Maybe you should try giving your doctor a call to tell him/her your concerns. If you still aren't satisfied with his/her answer, get a second opinion. Good luck.
