I have a GD that hums but does not spin. It was removed from a friend's house a couple of years ago and left sitting with the remains of a stainless steel pot scrubbing pad in it. I worked on it. The impellers and grinding wheel now turn freely by hand. However, when connected to 110, it just hums. Hmmmm???? Any suggestions. Thanx!

 

It is a Badger 5 Plus by Insinkerator.

I was asked if I had found the answer to my own question since no one else had.  Yes, behind a fence where I live. It is spelled d-u-m-p-s-t-e-r.

If any less drastic answer emerge, I will post them.
