I filed for divorce 06/08, went through 2 lawyers ...

I filed for divorce 06/08, went through 2 lawyers, hired the third lawyer 12/08 which is handling both the bankruptcy and the divorce, filed for chap 7 bankruptcy 01/09, passed the credit course 02/09, had the creditor's meeting 02/24/09, paid the trustee 2500.00 for equity of assets, I received the letter of discharge from the judge 04/29/09, my lawyer said in 09/09 that the divorce can't go forward without the federal judge signing off on the bankruptcy, that it might take as long as 6-8 weeks or til the 1st of the new year. Does this make sense to anyone? Am I not done with the bankruptcy? The divorce was put on hold in 01/09 when the 3rd lawyer took over the divorce case. Surely it wouldn't take months and months to remove the stay, schedule a hearing and get the divorce over, also, both parties in the divorce have signed a settlement agreement. Any info on the bankruptcy process during a divorce would be greatly appreciated. Hopeless and Helpless in kcmo
