Am I really so disturbed ? and can a mental problem cause this ?

Hi over 20yrs ago I began to experience arm muscle problems at this moment I have muscle problems with both arms /legs and neck,( heavy weakness arms and hot sharp pain and weakness in legs) I also get severe shin pain made worse by noise/wind/touch,I have weakness in eye muscle and can fall asleep without warning.And have days when I feel ill, I have developed a hump on my back, one leg shorter than the other and scoliosis ( which she thinks I have caused on purpose ) My doctor has said she thinks I need to see a Psychiatrist because he thinks a experience in my life has caused me to make me do this to myself so she is refering me one, I cannot believe I could of caused the spine problem.  I do have other conditions not mentioned

I also do not know if it is possible that you could have caused this to happen for yourself. However, I don't think that seeing a psychologist could hurt. I go to see someone whenever I feel like I need to talk or I have a problem. It might be good for you.

I think you need to find another doctor. Yes, it is possible for mental difficulties to cause physical ailments, but I don't think so many. I think there's somethinmg physically wrong with you and you need medical treatment.

I would get a second opinion from an doctor who specializes in rheumatology.  Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome have no seromarkers to make a diagnosis.  Secondly, Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome may need to be ruled out also.  Coping with daily pain, a psychiatric consult in not a good idea.  However, I would also make sure I am not being misdiagnosed by a physician who may not be skilled in the above areas to make a correct diagoses.
