A:I agree with the timing, just after xmas but another good timing is when you know that there is a new model coming soon.
E.g. Canon has just released the new Canon 50D and the previous model 40D is still very good if you are not a professional. The prices of 40D certainly will be lower as soon as 50D becomes available in your country.
