Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

It's not a rule or acceptance but rather a matter of taste.  Some people prefer that all furniture at their house will be of the same colour other furnish each room differntly.  Personally I prefer 1 style: Old (antique) furniture (at all house).  Same applies to the colour one paint one's house: Once it use to be 1 colour.... not any more.....
Best regards,

You can certainly have a different color wood for each of your rooms provided the furniture is of good taste. It certainly makes the house more interesting. Just remember it is best that the same color wood is the same for each piece of furniture in any one room.

Live each day as if it's your last.

Color makes a room come alive. I personally love furniture that doesn't exactly match, but instead, compliments each other. So I say, go out and start mismatching and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the results!

Sure you can. What is important is that colors work together. You can purchase a color wheel at an art supply store that will show you complimentary colors if you like. Another good practice is to pick furniture that is of another color but contains a thread or detail in the color of other furnishings in a room. An example would be if you have a couch that has multi colored fabric you could try to pick furnishings that match the ones in that fabric, it has already been designed by a pro so you know they match.

It's up to your personality if you want something colorful then go for it, it's your house you should feel free to do whatever you want.

I would say yes to your question, but, I would not make drastic color changes.  If the rooms can be seen from one another, I would just go slightly lighter or darker from room to room.  Blending is a lot easier on the eye to create calm and inviting rooms.
