Is there a difference between disability and social security???????

social sercuity:  My husband was receiving Railroad disability when he died.  I continue to receive those same benefits.  I turned 65 and inquired from the social security if I could get my social security.  To make a long story short I was told that I qualified for $800.00, that would be in addition to the money I was already receiving.  I received a letter from the Railroad informing me that I would be loosing my benefit from them,   The bank verified that a cashier check was mail to Social sercurity and that the account had been close, perventing any other money to enter.  The Railroad benefits continue without interruption.   IT'S A NIGHTMARE  To date social security continue to harrase me.  Social Security says I need to make a choose between my husbands sick benefits and my social security, I was under the impression they were different.

A customer of my the other day just lost her husband and she was telling me that she wasn't getting any of her husband railroad money and he never did put into the railroad, I do think that she also said that they were different therefore I would assume that you should be able to contact someone about collecting whatever payment would be the greatest,  good luck I'd be on the phone first thing monday though finding out ,
