I have been trying diets for the past 6 yrs. trying to find something to get me back to my pre-baby weight. I am tired of getting ripped off! Is there a diet that accually promises a FREE trial that don't require a card number to try? I am so unsure of ordering anything now unless I have tried it and decided for myself that it works. I have seven ppl in my household at this time and keeping on a scheduled diet is so difficult when trying to creat a meal plan that satisfies everyone in the home. A lot easier that cooking something different for everyone's liking. Give me something that is easy to follow and not gonna drain my bank account.... Prefferably something I can try first then buy if I like the effects. thank you for the help. ~Dixie~

Take a trip to the grocery store together. Let everyone choose his or her favorite nutritious foods, and remind one another to avoid the junk food aisles.

  • Step 2
Share low-fat recipes and healthy cooking tips, and put these to good use by preparing meals together.

  • Step 3
Serve reasonably proportioned meals on individual plates. That is, bring to the table plates that are already full as opposed to passing around dishes where family members can simply help themselves.

  • Step 4
Take a walk together after dinner.

  • Step 5
Turn off that television set and computer monitor and spend time together doing more active things - play some football, shoot some hoops, ride bicycles around the neighborhood.

  • Step 6
Join a health club together - be sure to ask about family or group rates.

  • Step 7
Indulge in your family's taste for adventure by planning the next vacation around an activity that requires movement, such as hiking, skiing, canoeing or whitewater rafting.

Sometimes you have to make decisions for the rest of your file, not just a diet for a few weeks.  My weakness is pasta. I used to eat spaghetti about twice a week (plus the leftovers). Now I have spaghetti about once every two weeks. This way I don't feel cheated as if I gave it up altogether, but I certainly don't eat it as often as before.   Think about what your one or two weaknesses are ( Coke? pastry? candy? bread?) and just cut back on that one thing and see if it makes a difference.

Dixie, you do not have to spend a lot of money to lose weight.  Start by eating more fruits and vegetables.  In season, they are cheap, otherwise use frozen.  If you can, bake things, don't fry.  For a large family, casseroles are great since you don't need a lot of meat/poultry in them.  Limit yourself to one snack item a day.  Popcorn or pretzels are low calorie.  And, MOST IMPORTANT, exercise everyday--walking is great.  Don't think of this as being on a "diet" or you will fail.   Think about it as a healthy way to eat, one that you can stay on forever.

Hello

It must be tough trying to diet while cooking for 7 people. I've noticed that foods high in saturated fat such as whole milk, fatty meats, butter, peanuts, and cheese really pack the fat on people. So, the main thing in helping you lose weight is to avoid those foods. You can still prepare delicious meals by cooking lean meats, fish, and plenty of vegetables.  Serve fresh fruit for dessert. Also, there is nothing fattening about whole wheat bread and pasta, despite what some people say. I eat it almost daily, and my bodyfat percentage is under 10%.

Have you ever tried Acai Berry?

Unlike many “health foods” the acai berry is very delicious. It taste like a mix of chocolate and berries which makes it easy to eat when trying to lose weight. The acai berry can be very beneficial in efforts to lose weight when combined with a proper diet and exercise program.

The acai berry helps to aid in digestion which helps to keep the body moving and flushing out fatty foods.

Dixie losing weight is all about knowing your body. You gain weight due to these:

- Overeating due to stress

- Slow metabolism

- Hormone imbalance

- Lack of exercise

So in order to lose weight all you need to do is:

- Do not take sugar and avoid it like plague

- Eat almost everything but in moderation and only in the morning and afternoon. In the evening just have some fruits and vegetable salad.

- Exercise, exercise and exercise (i'd rather go for fun activities like jumping, tennis, disc throwing, cycling and etc)
