I believe that anyone trying to get in shape should start with the basic core exercises (abdominal, and back). This is important because you don't want to stress your body and damage your bone and muscle structure. If you purchase a core ball (usually under $20) it will come with a chart or booklet showing you the basic moves for your back, abs, legs, arms, etc. Just make sure you get the right size ball for your hieght. You can usually fit 20 reps of three differnt exercises into a 10min time span. Try to make time for it 2-3 times a day. You can do many of them while watching TV, so it is pretty easy to work with. Then you don't have to go somewhere else to work-out or have a lot of bulky equipment laying around. As for diet, starting an exercise routine can realy effect your blood sugar levels. A good way to stabalize your blood sugar (andd aid in building muscle) is with a small protien snack every two hours. You can have a cheese stick wrapped with a piecee of lunch meat or some yogurt, check your lables to find something with att least four grams of protien. Carbs like white breads, are gonna give you a quick shot of sugars which isn't great for you, try a whole grain source instead. Also, you will be using more vitamins and minerals so don't skimp on the fruits and vegetables. And of course, keep hydrated! Hope this helps, good luck.
