Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

I understand you 100%. What I suggest is some type of aerobic exercise in addition to the walking you are already are doing. Two examples that are not too expensive are bicycling and swimming. For more information, read Aerobic Exercise - Mayo Clinic.

Good luck.

Actually, walking is one of the best forms of exercise.  If you want more out of it, carry some hand weights.  Ankle weights are also available.

If you want more exercise outside of walking, try to find something fun to do, like bicycling or swimming or roller blading.  Digging in the garden, vacuuming floors, washing windows are all good forms of exercise, too.

You don't need to spend money to get exercise.  If you want to, find a friend to share some of these activities with to make them more fun, or get someone to pay you to do their housework.

What about a resistance band or a balance ball? Either one of those is very inexpensive and there are a TON of exercises you can do with them at home. Check out this

resistance band and balance ball exercise video series.

buy an exercise ball and use it for crunches and other exercises.

but 2-3 pound dumbells and use them for arm exercises as well as lunges and squats.

buy a jump rope and use it everyday.

buy a bicycle and go for a ride.

vacuuming and window washing do burn calories, but it is most important that you get your heart rate pumping for at least 40 minutes at least 4-5 days per week.
