I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

RE: How long does it take diabetic meds to work

Because there are many different types of medications used to treat the various types of diabetes, you need to ask you doctor or a member of your health team that is taking care of you regarding this specific question. They will probably say that it is different for each person, and you will have to test your blood sugar levels, and this will determine how long it is going to take until the meds start to work. It involves trial and error and patience. Believe me; I am speaking from personal experience. Good luck.

Depending on the medicine, it can take up to a week. Most pills will be a few days, insulin should be immediate.
