Can a dental hygienist treatment change teeth color?

I went to a dental hygienist a few days ago after a few years of neglecting it, and I think after the treatment my teeth look a bit more yellow than before. Is this normal?

Do you used to be a smoker/stronger smoker? That could explain it.

edit 1: What treatment did you do there? High pressure water? Or something else?

Did you do any treatment before that one? Maybe sodium bicarbonate?

If you think of teeth as growing things,  you may just have revealed a different layer of your teeth, of a time where they were not as white. Still, give it a few more days to see if they change color by themselves.

Why is it that you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway ???

I you had not been taking care of your teeth you probably had alot of plaque and it is a white film that forms on your teeth. She just cleaned your teeth from the plaque is all.
